Notarial Academy
The Notarial Academy was set up by the Austrian Chamber of Civil Law Notaries for the training and further education of its members (notaries and candidate-notaries).
Its responsibilities are to:
- support the training of intending civil law notaries up to the exam to qualify as a civil law notary,
- offer wide-ranging further education to members in all fields of notarial work, in particular on current legal developments,
- elaborate concepts for the scientific aspect of technical and further education events,
- monitor legal policy and the development of law, especially in the traditional fields of notarial work (civil law, trade law, company law, securities law, land register and register of companies) at the national and the European levels,
- assist the Austrian Chamber of Civil Law Notaries in preparing comments on draft legislation, liaise with other professional organisations in Austria and abroad, participate in the adoption of guidelines for the training of candidate-notaries, in particular on the nature, scope and subject of training events which candidate-notaries must attend before being admitted to the exam to qualify as a notary,
- promote the foreign-language skills of members, with special emphasis on the language of the law.
